Day 1: Copenhagen - Odense - Kolding
Meet your tour escort in front of the classic Palace Hotel for a 9 a.m. departure. You will drive across the impressive bridge to the island of Funen, Denmark's fruit haven. After arriving in Odense, join the guided visit of Hans Christian Andersen's house, with free time for lunch on your own. The remainder of the day includes tours of fairy-tale castles that dreams are made of! First a visit to Egeskov Castle, the romantic Renaissance castle preserved on its own island; continuing on to Troense, to see Valdemar Castle, the romantic setting of a classic love story and film of Elvira Madigan's romance with Colonel Sparre. Then, after meandering through numerous manors and estate houses, you drive over the bridge to the mainland peninsula of Jutland and to the city of Koldingfjord.

Day 2: Kolding - Jelling - Silkeborg - Århus
After a decadent breakfast, you explore Jelling, home of the many famous burial grounds and stones displaying Runic inscriptions. Continue on to the picturesque city of Silkeborg, in the heart of the Danish Lake District, Jutland. Hold on as you ascend Denmark's highest hill, Himmelbjereget, 483 feet high, to enjoy a traditional lunch of "Smørrebrød." In the afternoon, continue on to Århus, the second largest city in Denmark, with a guided visit to "Den Gamle By." This is an open-air museum, with a collection of 61 town houses on site. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon with a casual stroll along the cobblestoned streets.

Day 3: Århus - Copenhagen

Today's journey begins with a coach excursion along the eastern coast of Jutland to Djursland to the quaint coastal town of Ebeltoft. You will have some free time to admire the tiniest city hall you have ever encountered before venturing over to the island of Sealand. The two-hour cruise across the Kattegat Sea arrives in Kalundborg with a short stop at Vor Frue Kirke, the Church of Our Lady, built in 1170. Before returning to Copenhagen, visit Roskilde, Sealand's second largest city, to see the tombs of 38 Danish kings. Upon arriving in Copenhagen, your coach will drop you at your hotel.
