Welcome to Melsted Badehotel

We can arrange a flight from Copenhagen and a car waiting at the Ronne Airport you will cross the island and drive to Gudhjem. You can also drive from Copenhagen across Sweden and take a car ferry to the island.There you will check-in at the Melsted Badehotel offering you excellent accommodations, no tv nor phone in rooms, (available at the front desk). You step right out on the beach from your hotel and you are minutes walk or a bike ride from the quaint little harbor at Gudhjem.

Enjoy your breakfasts on the terrace of the hotel and your other meals possibly at the famous Cafe Klint in Gudhjem, owned by the same family running the hotel. You can rent bikes, for a bike tour of the island. This is a common way for Danish vacationers visiting Bornholm. We can of course also arrange higher category of hotel in Svanneke. We can also arrange weekly rental of summer cottages rented out by local villagers to the tourists for modest weekly rates.

It is also known for the finest beaches and old ruins and round churches. It is a true delight and a delightful people to visit.

Itinerary                                               

Day 1, USA to Copenhagen
Depart from gateway city to Copenhagen.

Day 2, Copenhagen – Gudhjem, Bornholm
After landing at Copenhagen, you change plane and fly to Bornholm, where you can catch a local bus, or a taxi, bringing you across the island to Gudhjem. Overnight at Melsted Badehotel Gudhjem.

Day 3, Gudhjem
After breakfast you can start touring on your own, taking local busses, and perhaps you wish to visit the medieval fortress Hammershus, located on the end of the island.

 

You can of course stop at any one of the many small towns and fishing villages on the way, this is a quaint territory!  Afternoon you should return to Gudhjem and enjoy perhaps a meal at Café Clint or a real good restaurant Bokulhus. Overnight at Melsted Badehotel.  That is a walk back from Gudhjem.

Day 4, Gudhjem - Christians Ø - Gudhjem
After breakfast you will be able to join on a boat ride, about an hour, into thee Baltic Sea to a small island enclave called Christians Ø. Say hello to Jan the proprietor and his wife from me personally! please, Here you can spend a few hours, enjoy a delicious lunch on your own account, walk around the little island community and head back to Gudhjem.  You buy the ticket right at the Ferry office in Gudhjem harbor. Overnight at the Melsted Badehotel.

Day 5, Bornholm – Copenhagen
After breakfast the bus or a taxi will take you back to the airport for the flight back to Copenhagen. The flight departs approximately at 09:00am. Arrival at Copenhagen airport is at 09:30am.
