PRIVATE SERVICES

Day 01

                        AM Arrival in Lima.  Reception at the airport and  transfer to your hotel. Overnight at Swissotel Lima, San Isidro.

 

Day 02              Buffet breakfast at the hotel.

            AM: Guide excursion to Lima's Principal attractions such as The Plaza de Armas, Government Palace, The Cathedral, The Santo Domingo or San Francisco convents and the garden suburbs of Miraflores and San Isidro.

                        Overnight at Swissotel Lima, San Isidro.

 

Day 03              Buffet breakfast at the hotel.  You will be transferred to airport

For Departure Lim/Jul  (approx. 0930/1145) Lima to Juliaca (Check in at airport 2 hours before the flight departure requested by airline).

            Arrival in Juliaca.  Receptour at the airport and transfer to your hotel, including visit to Sillustani Tombs en route.

                        Overnight at Hotel Libertador Esteves, Puno.

 

Day 04              Buffet breakfast at the hotel.

            Full day guided excursion to Uros floating Islands and Taquile Islands, including lunch.

                        Overnight at Hotel Libertador Esteves, Puno.

           

Day 05              Buffet breakfast at the hotel.

                        Transfer to the train station.

            Departure to Cusco by train (First Class Inca Coach), including lunch on board.

            Arrival in Cusco.  Reception at the train station and transfer to your hotel.

                        Overnite at Hotel Libertador Cusco, Cusco.

 

Day 06              Buffet breakfast at the hotel.

Trip profile : 4 days walking with full porterage; maximum altitude 4,120 mts (13,733 ft), average 3,050 mts (10,166 ft), Grade B.  Season : April to November.

 

Peru's Inca Trail offers walkers the finest combination of history and scenery to be found on a trekking route anywhere in the world. The most famous trail in South America, winds from the rapids of the Urubamba river through mountains, cloud forests and deep jungle to the fabled Lost City of Machu Picchu.  Previously, a backpackers' favorite, the Inca Trail has now been officially closed to all but a few licensed operators, in an attempt to protect its fragile eco-structure from over-use: Receptour one of these few, is now able to offer regular departures, including guides and porters on the walk.

 

Sunday                        CUSCO - CHILLCA – LLACTAPATA

A two-hour bus journey takes us to Chilca, where we meet our porters & cook and begin the trek. After crossing the control bridge we begin the trek following the course of the Urubamba River; lunch.  You will observe the Veronica (5,850 mts.) and Salkantay (6,271mts) peaks, as well as the great variety of flora & fauna.  After a 3 hours trek, arrive at the confluence of four rivers where there is an extensive archaeological site in a beautiful natural setting - Llactapata archaeological center. Tour & Camp at Llactapata. (L, D)

 

Monday                        LLACTAPATA - WALLAPAMPA -  LLULLUCHAPAMPA

After breakfast, begin trek by crossing the Kusi Chaca River via the Wilca Racay pass through beautiful plains and forests, arriving ath the last village of the Inca Trail, Wallapampa.  Lunch.  After lunch, begin a steep ascent between fromidable mountains which show the    of the valley/.  After a 3 hour ascent arrival at Llulluchapampa.  Camp at Llulluchapampa.                        (B, L, D)

 

Tuesday                       LLULLUCHAPAMPA - WARMIWAÑUSQ’A - PACATMATU - RUNTURAKAT -STAQMARCA - PHUYUPATAMARCA

Breakfast and re-start the trek slowly towards the Warmiñusca pass to reach the highest point in the Trail at 4,200 mts.  Descend between terraces & gorges all the way to Pacaymayu (3,650 mts.).  Again ascend up to the runtuRacay (3,930 mts) pass.  Lunch.  After lunch continue the trek by descending to the archaeological site of Sayaq Marca where rectangular edifications, patios, streets, ceromonial fountains and platforms stand out .  Futther down lies the archaeological site of Phuyupatamarca, the route’s highest Inca construction.  Camp at Phuyupatamarca.         (B, L, D)

 

Wednesday                  PHUYUPATAMARCA - MACCHU PICCHU - AGUAS CALIENTES

Breakfast.  Initiate descent down the notorious, never ending Inca steps, arriving at well-preserved remains of Wiñay Wayna,  a very important archaeological site.  At Inti Punku, the Inca gate of the sun, we get our first sight of Macchu Picchu. We finally cross the ridge that leads to our destination, and the full grandeur of the greatest archaeological discovery of modern times is revealed.  Complete guided tour of the ruins, then descend to the town of Aguas Caliioentes.  Camp at Aguas Calientes. (B, L, D)

 

Thursday                      MACCHU PICCHU - CUSCO

Breakfast.  Morning free to explore on your own.  In the afternoon, take the exciting train ride along the Urubamba valley back to Cusco and transfer to the hotel. (B)

 

 

 

Day 10              Arrival in Cusco, reception at the train station, and transfer to your hotel.

                        Overnight at Hotel Libertador Cusco, Cusco.

 

 

Day 11              Buffet breakfast at the hotel.

            Half day City tour Cusco, including a visit to the nearby ruins of Saccsayhuaman, Kenko, Tambomachay and PucaPucara.

                        Overnight at Hotel Libertador Cusco, Cusco.

                                               

 

Day 12              Buffet breakfast at the hotel.

            Departure Transfer out for flight Cus/Pem Tickets Cus/Pem  SJ-4181 (1030/1100)
3d/2n met on arrival and transferred to Posada Amazonas Lodge (FAP)

 

Day 13              Posada Amazonas.

                       

Day 14            You will be transferred out – for Flight  Pem/Lim Tickets Pem/Lim  (approx. 1130/1330)

                        Arrival in Lima.  Reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel.

                        Overnight at Swissotel Lima, San Isidro.

 

Day 15              Buffet breakfast at the hotel.  Transfer by private car to airport for your

-           Cotton short-sleeved shirt t-shirts, wool sweater and wool trousers, jeans and hiking shorts.

-               Regular underwear.

-           Medium weight parka, fiber fill

-           Light cap and wool hat

-           Rain poncho (or rain gear)

-            Sleeping bag and small day pack

-           Duffel bag (strong & waterproof)

-                     On each trip the trekking crew carries a medical kit but it is suggested to bring a small personal first aid kit for bruises and blisters.

A knee and ankle brace are sometimes useful. Include any special medication your personal doctor might suggest for you.
