Day 2: Copenhagen
After your first breakfast, featuring regional specialties, take time to see the popular sites of Copenhagen. We suggest a guided sight-seeing tour of the city - visit The Little Mermaid, Amelienborg and Christianborg for starters! In the evening delight in the magic of festive Tivoli Gardens.

Day 3: Copenhagen - Odense - Pick up your rental car
Rise and collect your car from the downtown rental office. Today's journey begins with a drive across the impressive bridge to the island of Funen, known as "Denmark's garden," where most of Denmark's fruit is grown. The island is dotted with large, picturesque manors and half-timbered houses. Continue on to Odense, where we suggest a visit to the newly renovated Hans Christian Andersen Museum.
Accommodations: Radisson SAS HC Andersen Hotel Odense, B
|
|
Day 4: Odense - Aarhus
Enjoy another delectable breakfast before driving across the Lille Baelt bridge to Jutland. On your way to Aarhus, make a stop in Jelling to see the famous burial grounds and Runic-inscribed stones. Continue through the heart of the Danish Lake District, Silkeborg, and ascend Denmark's highest hill, Himmelbjerget. Upon arrival in Aarhus, Denmark's second largest city, we suggest the open-air museum, Den Gamle By, with its collections of 61 town houses from all over the country. This is a "snapshot" of how life used to be!
Accommodations: Scandic Hotel Aarhus, B
|
|
Day 5: Aarhus - Skagen
After an early start, make your way to the tip of Jutland, Skagen, to see where the waters of Kattegat and Skagerrak meet. The Skagen Museum is a must, with many of Denmark's best-known painters' works on display.
Accommodations: Brøndums Hotel, B
|
Day 6: Skagen - Copenhagen
Enjoy another generous breakfast as today's drive continues south through the Rold Forest, Randers and Mols hills to Edeltoft. Here, in this fairly-tale town, stands the tiniest city hall. Return by ferry to Sealand, in the northwestern tip, to disembark in Selandsodde. The journey ends with a drive back to Copenhagen, passing the city of Roskilde. We suggest you visit the Viking Museum and the Roskilde Cathedral, where all the Danish royalty are buried. Drop off your car in the city center.
