Las Vegas, Grand Canyon Arizona 13 day Tour

Chicago, Las Vegas, Grand canyon, Sedona, Phoenix and Tucson Arizona 
a 13 day Tour.

Day 1, Friday

Depart Copenhagen on SAS for Chicago at 1540.  Arrival at O'Hare at 1740.

Upon arrival you are met and transferred to the hotel downtown.

After check-in join for a welcome drink at the 96th floor in Hancock Building a short walk from your hotel.  Dinner on own, Overnight at Hotel to be advised

Day 2, Saturday

After breakfast on your own, Join a city tour of Chicago.  You will participate in the opening of the Board of Trade, and drive by such sites as the Sears Tower, Museum of Natural History, The Sheds Aquarium,

The Magical Mile – Michigan Avenue and The Art Institute.

The afternoon is free to explore on your own.  You may wish to have lunch at The new Millennium Park.   Welcome dinner at Tommy Gun’s Garage, a Chicago style Al Capone hangout.  Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3, Sunday

After breakfast on your own, free time for shopping on the Fabulous Magical Mile Michigan Avenue.  You may wish to explore the Art Institute or the Museum of Science and Industry, Navy Pier and more.    Dinner on your own. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 4, Monday

After breakfast on your own we transfer to the airport for our flight to Las Vegas.  Upon arrival we are transferred by private bus to The Circus Circus Las Vegas Hotel.  If you are up for a dinner and show, let your guide know as reservations must be made.  Overnight at Hotel.

Day 5, Tuesday

After breakfast we will tour the city of Las Vegas, seeing the sites such as the Elvis Wedding Chapel.  Afternoon free for pool, shopping gambling etc.  Dinner on own.

Day 6, Wednesday
After breakfast on own, start the bus trip to The Grand Canyon.  First stop is Hoover Dam and a tour of this facility.  Continue passing Lake Mead, and drive to Hualapai for an overnight.

Day 7, Thursday
After breakfast on own the ones who wish to hike down the trail to the Indian reservation at Supai will take off.  This is a 2.5 to 3 hour descent.
Into the Colorado River Basin.  There you will overnight in a very simple

Cabin.  The dinner that night is simple and you must be prepared to roughing it.  You can hike on to the waterfall for a bath in the River.

Overnight in sleeping bags in an open cabin.  Be sure to carry a couple of water bottles.

The ones staying on top will transfer into Grand Canyon for an afternoon and evening in the Village.  Dinner at a local Barbeque restaurant.

Overnight at the Holiday Inn Express.

Day 8, Friday

After breakfast the hikers will start the climb, which easily can be a 4 hour ordeal.  Once on top the bus will pick you up and take you into Grand Canyon Village, for check-in at Holiday Inn Express.  You may want a shower before going out to see the Rim of the Canyon.

The group staying at Grand Canyon will be brought into the Grand Canyon National Park for a day on own in the park.  The remainder of the group will come and meet up at lunch time.

Day 9, Saturday

After breakfast on own, the bus will start the trip towards Sedona.  We will pass through Flagstaff Arizona the Sedona Valley and we will chek into the Best Western Hotel in Sedona.  In this little town you may see a real six gun carrying cowboy, as this is still allowed, by the working cowboys, working the ranches nearby.  Dinner on own in a local restaurant.

Day 10, Sunday

After breakfast on own we will continue to Phoenix.  Here we will check into a desert resort for a night in luxury.  Here we may meet with the local Scandinavian community, for a little glimpse at the Danes that live here permanently.  Dinner on own. Overnight at a hotel to be advised.

Day 11, Monday

After breakfast on your own, we will embark on a guided city tour of Phoenix and the surrounding area.  We will make a stop into a real success story, seeing the very popular Copenhagen Imports Store owned by two Danish immigrants, who have amassed a furniture empire in the desert.  Quite a story of entrepreneurial skills!   We will continue to Tucson Arizona, where we may be greeted by the local Rotary Club, which plans to attend the Rotary convention in Copenhagen in 2006.

Dinner on your own.  Overnight at Inn Suites of Tucson.

Day 12, Tuesday

After breakfast on your own, the day is free.  We will have a farewell dinner in Tucson.

Day 13, Wednesday
After breakfast on your own we will transfer to the airport for flight home.

This tour is designed as a destination proposed itinerary.  Accommodations and meal plans will vary according to the clients requirements.  Pricing is based on these factors, seasonality and availability.  Return home may be pre-scheduled to day 12 depending on requirements of the client.
