Day 1: Chicago - Havana

Depart Chicago and arrive Havana, Cuba  7:00 PM 

Driver meeting and taking to Hotel Saratoga or similar.  Dinner at local Paladar and talk with owners to learn how  their life in Cuba has been changed by the opening of private businesses 

Day 2: Havana

After breakfast attend meeting with  Cuba Real Tours 10:00am to noon. (longer if necessary)

Afternoon free. Travel to Carlos de la Cabaña fortress to see the Cannon Shot Ceremony

Evening: Havana by night,  need a recommendation for Jazz and Art clubs and places with entertainment and learn about freedom to operate such private clubs.

Overnight at Hotel

Day 3: Havana

After breakfast, a guide shall meet at the hotel for a city tour. Visit Colonial Havana declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1982, walking tour in the historic center including main squares, fortresses, and buildings built by the Spaniards during the XVI and XIX centuries. Visit La Bodeguita del Medio; main streets and avenues in Old Havana. Stop at the Capitol. Continue the tour with a panoramic view of Havana's University and the visit to the Revolution Square. Visit El Cristo de La Habana part of an architecture that serves as the entrance to the old Carenas Port.

A driver to continue to visit the Rum Museum to know about the origin and development of the rum production on the island and enjoy a Cuban cocktail.

A visit to the historic Hemmingway’s bar La Floridita

Day 4: May

After breakfast, driver to pick up taking me to Cienfuegos (3 hours/145 miles)

On the way to Cienfuegos stop at Cienaga de Zapata, a prized National Park for Cuba, and proposed World Heritage Site including lunch at Susurros de Mar for tasting local dishes such as crocodile and jutía (drive time 1 1/2 hours 100 miles)

Arrive in Cienfuegos. Visit the epic Cathedral of Cienfuegos and miniature Arch of Triumph which was recognized by UNESCO in 2005 when it was declared a World Heritage Site.

Visit the Botanical Garden which was declared a National Monument in 1989. Also, see one of the most historic buildings in Cienfuegos the Teatro Tomas Terry, as well as the Valle Palace, Fortress of Nuestra Señora de Los Ángeles de Jagua, the Castillo de Jagua Fortress Cienfuegos and the Naval museum

Spend night in a hotel in  Cienfuegos

Day 5: May

Leave Cienfuegos to arrive in Trinidad (drive time 1 1/2 hours 55 miles) 

Stop at the beach along the way.

Spend a late afternoon on a walking tour of Trinidad with a local historian starting at the Plaza Mayor in the city's historic district including the Iglesia de la Santísima Trinidad church, which is known locally as La Parroquíal Mayor, Palacio Brunet Museum of Colonial Architecture and the Municipal Museum. Hopefully, experience local Cubans performing authentic salsa dancing somewhere in the city while enjoying dinner at a local paladar

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Farewell

After breakfast, drive back to Havana Airport for return trip Panama.  Flight departs at 12:35, check in 2 hours prior
